Insecurity: NYSC warns corps members in Yobe to be vigilant

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Yobe State Coordinator, Mrs Hafsat Yerima, has urged corps members deployed to the state to be vigilant and wary of their environment.

She issued the advisory to 2023 Batch ‘C’ Stream 1 corpers at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Dazigau, Nangere Local Government Area of the state in order for them to ensure their safety.

Yerima tasked them with reporting strange or suspicious movements and behaviour in their environment to the nearest security formation for necessary action.

“Participation in all camp activities is compulsory for corps members, except those with valid medical reasons, certified by the camp clinic,” she added.

The state coordinator informed them that NYSC has introduced camp court for trying erring corps members who violate camp rules.

Director General of the National Youth Service Corps, (NYSC) Brig.- Gen Yusha’u Dogara Ahmed stated the scheme’s readiness to empower corp members with funds for their business ideas.

He revealed this while addressing Corps members at Benue State Orientation Camp in Wannune, Tarka Local Government Area of the State.

The DG said that the scheme has partnered with many stakeholders that will provide loans for the young people to get their businesses operational.

Ahmed also advised them to serve their fatherland as good representatives of their families, institutions and the National Youth Service Corps, NYSC.

He said; “Be ready to participate in SAED post-camp training and equip yourselves with skills that will make you financially independent.

“We have partnered with many stakeholders that will give you loans that will enable you to finance your business ideas. Protect your integrity, be diligent, adhere to NYSC dress code and be security conscious at all times”.
