EFCC chairman, Mr. Ola Olukoyede narrates how a 17-year-old yahoo boy highly shocked him in his office with his incredible IT skills.
He recounted that the 17-year-old boy collected his phone number and somehow obtained his BVN while at his office in Lagos.
According to him, the young boy was so engrossed in his laptop that it felt like he had forgotten that he was in his office.
With his BVN, he told him the bank he uses and his account number and asked if he should demonstrate to him how he would move his (EFCC chairman’s) money to his own bank.
The EFCC chairman noted that what these young men need is to be taught to utilize their skills to do something legal, and helping them to stop seeing fraud as a way of life.
He added that they try not to give young men heavy sentences so as not to cut their lives and careers short.
