“You rise by lifting others’ is a lie, if you keep lifting others without first lifting yourself, you won’t rise, you will be crash” – Reno Omokri

Popular Nigerian author and social media influencer, Reno Omokri, has caused a serious buzz by challenging the widely accepted belief that “you rise by lifting others.”

Reno Omokri expressed his skepticism, contending that this popular notion is deceptive and often exploited by manipulators.

According to him, the key lies not just in lifting anyone but in strategically choosing the right individuals to uplift.

Reno Omokri cautioned against lifting individuals such as girlfriends, in-laws, or side chicks, suggesting that such actions could potentially lead to a downfall.

Instead, he emphasized the importance of rising by uplifting one’s parents and spouse.

In his perspective, the most significant ascent occurs when individuals invest in self-awareness, self-management, and self-development.

This viewpoint diverges from the belief held by popular Nigerian musician Davido, who, in a recent award acceptance speech, passionately asserted that most people rise by lifting others.

The collection, inspired by his father’s philanthropic endeavors, is characterized by the motto “we rise by lifting others.”

In his words;

“You rise by lifting others is a lie. It is a statement crafted and used by mani lators. You rise by lifting the right people. You don’t rise by lifting just anybody. If you lift your girlfriend, you will fall. If you lift your in-laws, you will fall. If you lift your side chick, you will lu le! Use wisdom to lift the right people. You rise by lifting your parents. You grow by lifting your wife. But the biggest arising you will experience is lifting yourself through self-awareness, self-management, and self- development. But if you keep lifting others without first lifting yourself, you won’t rise. Rather, you will be crhed by the sheer weight of their insatiable demands!”
