Eze Chukwuemeca Eze, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has labelled Rivers State governor Nyesom Wike a coward for his inaction in revealing the presidential candidate he vowed to publicly declare for the 2023 election.
Governor Wike had promised to name his preferred candidate against January’s end but is yet to do so and has instead stated that the method by which he would reveal this was never specified.
Eze believes Wike is “confused and ignorant” about politics, noting that any candidate he eventually names will be doomed because of a lack of vision and capacity on Wike’s part.
“Governor Nyesom Wike is a confused fellow. First, I earlier stated that Wike doesn’t know the type of politics that Atiku plays and in his ignorance, he thought that Atiku is among those he can undermine but sadly for him he has succeeded to finish his political career so far in 2023 general elections,” Eze said.
“To me, Wike is a coward and has no Presidential Candidate to support; he thought that by his threats, Atiku would succumb to his ploys.
“By not naming his preferred candidate by now, he has succeeded in exposing himself.
“It is late for him to name or join anybody and if he decides to name any of the presidential candidates, such a candidate is doomed,” he added.
Shehu Sani, a former Nigerian lawmaker and social critic also pointed out how G-5 governors, led by Governor Wike are playing hard to get with their endorsement which he says might soon become irrelevant as voters had more likely made up their minds on whom they want as President.
