General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church Of God, Pastor E. A. Adeboye has shared some insights into God’s expectation of those who are born again.
He said that one of the things God expects is that we should glorify him with our body and flee from every form of sexual immorality.
In his words, “When you’re born again, what are the expectations of God from you? Because you’ve come, waiting to receive miracles beyond expectations from God but he’s also expecting certain things from us.
“1 Peter 1:18-19, the bible says because you were bought with the precious blood of the lamb, you’re a very expensive commodity in the hand of the Most High – you were not bought with silver and gold but with the blood. Then it says God expects you to glorify him with your body. The moment you’re born again, you’re no longer your own, your body is not your own, and God expects you not to use your body anyhow.
“When you hear somebody say, ‘I can do anything I like with my body”, then you should know that the person is not born again. So God expects from you, according to 1st Corinthians 6:18-20, that the moment you’re born again, you flee every form of sexual immorality because it is not your body”
