Watch throwback video of APGA chairman saying unless Peter Obi returns to APGA, he will not achieve anything politically

A video of the chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Victor Oye, saying the presidential candidate of the Labour party, Peter Obi, will never amount to anything politically unless he returns to the party has made the rounds on social media.

The video resurfaced online after Peter Obi lost the February 25, 2023, Presidential election to APC’s Bola Tinubu.

Oye in the interview expressed his disdain for Obi who had hitherto vowed never to leave the party but reneged and defected from the party to the PDP in October 2014. Obi contested for the seat of governor on the platform of the party and won. He was governor of the South Eastern state from March to November 2006, February to May 2007, and June 2007 to March 2014.  He then defected from the party to the PDP.

In his interview with Channels TV, Oye said

‘’I said it at that time and I still repeat it. Unless Peter Obi my brother returns to APGA, he will not achieve anything politically. I am repeating it. Why? Isaiah 55:11 says ‘My word cannot go out and return void without fulfilling the purpose for which it was sent’. The word has gone forth, It can never return until it has fulfilled that purpose. He knows because it took a vow that he will never leave APGA and any day he leaves APGA, let his family die. He said it. But  he still left APGA, thinking that leaving APGA, APGA will die. Had APGA died? Everything about us is in the hands of God’.

Be careful of how you swear. The Bible says we should not swear, even with our head because we cannot produce a strand of hair on our head. Why did he make such a  vow? He left APGA and joined PDP. He was Vice President to Atiku, now he is going for Presidency. It will be a catastrophic exercise. It will not work.”
