Popular actor and human rights activist, Yomi Fabiyi has taken to his official social media handle to caution people against using a child or underage as Househelp or domestic servant.
He said using a child or an underage as a Househelp or domestic servant is the worst form of Criminality and evil against that child. He added that it’s equivalent to a war crime.
Yomi said no child should be forced into labor and that poverty, war, and ignorance are not an excuse. He said it’s punishable under the law with a lengthy jail term.
He said it’s quite disturbing and disappointing to see those acting like they care for children online but have children as maids in their homes.
He asked how they sleep at night when they tell a child to babysit their children, adding that using a child as a maid exposed him or her to any form of abuse including sexual abuse. He noted that they have lost their moral right to fight for any child or work around them.
