Asa Asika, Davido’s talent manager and DJ Cuppy’s ex, has recently taken to social media to advise Nigerians to stay clear of bleaching.
In a very short but impactful social media comment on Twitter, he states,
“Sat no to bleaching.” However, he did not offer any added insights as to what prompted his statement.
Now recall that back in December of 2023, Nollywood actor Jerry Amilo had sparked bleaching rumours after a recent video of him had surfaced online.
Netizens were left confused as they compared his remarkably fair skin to his normally chocolate complexion. The speculations rang loud as a lot of Nigerians hinted at the fact that he had his skin bleached.
However, popular social media influencer Bitcoin Chief expressed that it could simply be the use of Snapchat filters and not as a result of him actually bleaching his skin.
Back in November of 2023, actress Ify Eze had slammed a troll who accused her of bleaching. She had taken to her Instagram page to share a video of herself looking beautiful in a traditional attire. However, the post, which attracted lots of positive comments, had a particular commenter accuse her of bleaching her skin.
The actress, who was obviously upset, retorted back as she classified the commenter as stupid. She further criticized her for her audacity to post such comments on her page.
