Police ‘rescue’ eight abducted Ondo travellers, 17 others still in captivity

The police in Ondo state says it has rescued eight out of the 25 persons abducted along Owo/Ifon/Benin expressway on Friday, September 29.  

 

Confirming the rescue to newsmen, the Public Relations Officer, Ondo State Police Command, SP Funmilayo Odunlami-Omisanya, said 8 of the victims were rescued by men of the state police and that efforts are being made to rescue the others unhurt.

 

The victims are said to be members of the Choir of the Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) Oke Igan, Akure, the state capital and were abducted around Elegbeka village while they were on their way to Ifon for a funeral ceremony.
