Just a few days ago, Wizkid caused a stir online by dismissing Don Jazzy as merely an influencer, despite the veteran’s extensive two-decade journey in the music realm.
The drama unfolded after Don Jazzy’s protege rapper Ladipoe taunted Wizkid in response to his controversial 2022 declaration that “Hip Hop is dead.”
A fan directed Wizkid’s attention to the tweet, prompting Wizkid to respond with a dismissive tone: “lol never chatting to anyone signed to an influencer, next.”
However, amidst the controversy, netizens have resurfaced a revealing video that clarifies why Wizkid labeled Don Jazzy as an influencer.
In this resurfaced clip, Don Jazzy is seen giving an interview discussing the stage performances of Afrobeats artists.
During the podcast, Don Jazzy discussed Burna Boy’s stage performance, noting how Burna performed for over two hours without splashing water on anyone in the audience. This remark prompted laughter from the fellow participants.
Although Don Jazzy admitted that some of his own artists also engage in similar behavior, many interpreted his comment as a subtle jab at Wizkid, known for pouring water on his fans during performances.
