A short video from Ibadan is drawing attention online after Nollywood actress Toyin Abraham interrupted an MC who was introducing her and told him which name to use. According to Legit.ng, the exchange happened on November 3, 2026, at the launch of a facility belonging to fellow actress Sola Sobowale.
The event was held outdoors. Legit.ng reported that the MC was greeting guests and pointing out well-known entertainers who were born in Ibadan. When he reached Toyin Abraham, he reportedly fumbled her name before going for the professional surname that fans know best. She then stepped in and firmly asked him to announce her as Toyin Ajeyemi.
Where the name Ajeyemi comes from
Per the same report, Ajeyemi is her husband's family name. She is married to actor Kolawole Ajeyemi, and the two held a traditional wedding in July 2019. A son was born to them later that year.
Legit.ng also noted that the actress was born Oluwatoyin Aimakhu. She took Abraham as her professional surname on the strength of family guidance before she married. Industry colleagues and fans still mostly know her as Toyin Abraham, but the publication says she has been using Ajeyemi more often in personal settings and at some public appearances.
