Nollywood actress Ekene Umenwa has a fresh set of keys and a full heart. The actress marked three years of marriage on Wednesday, 5 November 2026, and her husband, Kleanson, made sure the day would not pass quietly: he surprised her with a brand-new car.
In a video Ekene shared online, the surprise plays out in full. According to Legit.ng, the reveal took place at the couple's home in Asaba, Delta State, where Kleanson presented a black Lexus SUV dressed in ribbons, alongside gift boxes and paperwork. The footage, filmed on the driveway and porch, shows the moment the gift registers with the actress.
Her reaction was immediate. Ekene went down on her knees, visibly overwhelmed, to thank her husband for the gesture. Kemi Filani News described her as kneeling to appreciate him, while Legit.ng called it an emotional outpouring of gratitude.
Ekene Umenwa's anniversary message in her own words
The car was only part of the story. Ekene used the milestone to write a lengthy note to her husband, thanking God and reflecting on what she believes keeps a home standing. She opened: "My heart is full of gratitude to God for His faithfulness, love, and countless blessings. I may not always have the words to express how grateful I am, but today, my heart is full."
Addressing Kleanson directly, she wrote: "My darling husband @kleanson, thank you for loving me, choosing me and making beautiful memories with me. Thank you for the thoughtful gifts, the sacrifices, the little things that often go unnoticed and the many ways you continue to show up for our family."
She made it clear the vehicle was not the main thing for her: "This beautiful gift reminds me of your thoughtfulness, but beyond the gifts, I cherish the man, the friendship, the partnership, and the home we are building together."
Then came the line many readers have latched on to: "I have come to understand that marriage is not about who gives the biggest gifts or who celebrates the loudest. It's about God's grace, genuine love, understanding, forgiveness, friendship, and choosing each other every day."
She extended her prayers to other couples and to those still waiting on their own love stories: "My prayer for every married couple and everyone trusting God for their own beautiful story is that your homes will never lack love, peace, provision, and reasons to rejoice. May God bless the hands that give, the hearts that love and the homes that honour him. May we never become so used to God's blessings that we forget to be grateful."
She signed off with: "Happy wedding anniversary to us, my love. May the years ahead be even more beautiful, purposeful, and filled with God's presence. To God alone be all the glory".
