Nollywood actor and producer Kunle Afod has finally addressed the reported breakdown of his marriage to Desola Afod, popularly known online as Celeb Wife. If fans hoped for a clear explanation, though, they did not get one. According to Creebhills, the filmmaker answered in parables when asked point-blank what went wrong.
The conversation took place in a fresh interview with Kasnasty Sugar, published on YouTube. Creebhills described the session as confirmation of the separation rather than an explanation of it.
Work first, then suspicion
Afod's opening answer was about his career. "This job is heavy," he said, according to the report, adding that the pressure sometimes leaves him and his wife without time for their own home.
From there, the actor reportedly offered an apology to women ahead of what he was about to say, then switched to the topic of mistrust between couples. He argued that women tend to assume men are unfaithful, and went on to share broad views on the different ways he believes men and women cheat.
Some of those views touched on sensitive ground. Per Creebhills, Afod suggested that a husband may grow uneasy when his wife becomes overly attached to one female friend. He also brought up sex toys, saying such a wife would be far from relaxed if she ever caught her husband using one. The outlet's own headline framed this part of the chat with the line "Why is she not satisfied with just one dildo?"
No accusation against Desola
Importantly, Afod did not claim that any of these scenarios played out in his own home, and he levelled no accusation at Desola, the report noted. His remarks were presented as general reflections on jealousy, cheating and trust in relationships, not as a description of his marriage.
That means the real reason for the split remains unclear. What the actor did signal, per Creebhills, is that he sees the demands of his profession and the level of trust between partners as part of the bigger picture.
Months of silence
Whispers of trouble in the Afod household first surfaced in February 2026, when claims spread that Desola had packed her belongings out of the couple's house. Until this interview, neither husband nor wife had spoken publicly about the matter.
This is not the first time the pair's marriage has made headlines. Back in 2022, Desola used Instagram to announce that she had walked away from Kunle Afod, only to reverse course afterwards.
Desola has also stayed in the spotlight on her own. Her recent public rows with actresses Wumi Toriola and Bimbo Success drew attention, as did the apology she later issued to the movie industry.
