Nigerian singer Spyro has voiced his displeasure over the state of electricity supply after going to an office of the Eko Electricity Distribution Company (EKEDC) to make a complaint, according to a report by GistLover.
The singer shared the experience online and, as described by the publication, seemed surprised by what he saw, especially the conditions the company's own employees were working in.
Staff battling the heat
Spyro said the workers were struggling with the heat and had to cool themselves by hand. Describing the scene, he said, "The workers were literally fanning themselves." The report did not say which EKEDC office he visited, when the visit took place, or what his original complaint was about.
GistLover said the account has put fresh attention on the persistent electricity problems Nigerians face, with many consumers still frustrated by poor supply while they are expected to keep paying their bills. EKEDC has not been quoted responding in the source.
