Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand has described a conversation he says he had with Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen about a possible move to Old Trafford, according to Daily Post Nigeria.
Ferdinand, a former England defender, said he advised the 27-year-old Nigerian to hear United out if the club ever makes contact. The report says Ferdinand had urged his old club to sign Osimhen in earlier transfer windows.
What Ferdinand says he told Osimhen
Daily Post Nigeria quoted Ferdinand, who was in turn quoted by Türkiye Gazetesi, as saying: "I told him, 'Victor [Osimhen], if Manchester United calls you, you should listen to them'."
Ferdinand then relayed Osimhen's response: "He said, 'Rio, that is a different question. I can't do it unless Galatasaray approves.' I said, 'Exactly, that is why I am asking.'"
In other words, going by Ferdinand's account, Osimhen's position is that any move would depend on his current club's consent. The account comes only from Ferdinand, as quoted by Türkiye Gazetesi and repeated by Daily Post Nigeria. Osimhen has not been quoted confirming it, and the sources do not say when or where the conversation took place, nor do they report any approach from Manchester United.
