Content creator Samuel Banks has publicly thanked Nigerian rapper Zlatan Ibile, saying the music star helped him get his first house in Lagos, a kind gesture he says he will carry with him for life.
The appreciation came in a statement that has been circulating online, according to entertainment blog GistLover, which reported the story on November 5, 2026. In it, Banks looked back on the support he received from the Zanku crooner when he was acquiring his first property in the state.
What Samuel Banks said
Speaking about the rapper, Samuel Banks said: "I will never forget how Zlatan helped me get my first house in Lagos. Not every artist, no matter how successful they become, remembers to show support to others."
Beyond the thank-you, Banks used the moment to point out something he believes is rare in the entertainment world: celebrities who still look back and lift others after hitting the big time. By his account, Zlatan is one of them.
It is worth noting that the statement, as reported, does not spell out exactly how Zlatan helped. Banks did not say whether the rapper paid for the house, contributed part of the cost, connected him to a seller or supported him in some other way. Zlatan has also not publicly reacted to the praise in the material available, and the details of the arrangement have not been independently confirmed.
How fans reacted
As expected, social media users had plenty to say once the post started spreading. Many hailed Zlatan, while others asked questions and cracked jokes.
One user, Dr Farouk, admitted the wording almost misled him, writing: "Zlatan seems like a very nice guy from what I've seen online. I almost thought he was the one who bought the house for Samuel o."
Samuel Oluwafemi was full of praise for the rapper, commenting: "This is what genuine support looks like. Success means even more when you use your influence and resources to help others rise. Zlatan deserves his flowers for remembering people who were part of the journey."
Not everyone was simply clapping. A user identified as Mary is Fun wanted numbers, asking: "How much is the house? How much does he spend in club"
Another, Haybee Gas pos ventures, offered a guess about the nature of the help, writing: "Maybe he help Samuel bank pick money". That suggestion is only speculation from a commenter and is not backed by anything Banks said.
A user named Coy dragged in a separate matter entirely, in Pidgin: "Make Zlatan help me he no gree na VDM my second Idolo he Dey follow fight.omo this period just Dey somehow"
