American rapper Cardi B has finally let the world see her youngest child. After keeping the boy away from cameras for a whole year, the Bronx-born star used his first birthday to reveal both his name and his face.
According to Creebhills, the singer shared a series of photos and videos on Instagram on Wednesday, November 4, captioned "Happy 1st birthday to Grey M.D." Her representative reportedly confirmed to Billboard that the child's full name is Grey Marsean Diggs, a name that carries both the middle name and the surname of his father.
The father is Stefon Diggs, the NFL wide receiver who was once Cardi's boyfriend.
Cardi B's birthday message
In the caption, the rapper wrote: "It's only been 1 year since meeting you but it feels like I've had you at my side forever."
She continued: "I carried you through one of the most uncertain high pressured times of my life but having you inside of me through it all gave me an extra strength."
Never one to miss a wordplay, she also joked on the boy's name: "You gave a new meaning to what a Grey day feels like."
Diamonds, scrubs and a Grey's Anatomy party
The pictures show a smiling Grey dripping in diamond chains and earrings, rocking a green snapback and striped overalls. Some of the shots come from a celebration themed around the hospital drama Grey's Anatomy.
In one frame, the little one wears surgeon's scrubs and a lab coat next to the TV show's logo. Creebhills suggested this appears to have been his Halloween outfit, a playful nod to the "Grey M.D." tag in the caption. Another clip shows Cardi hiding her face while wearing hand jewellery and a necklace that spells out her son's name.
Stefon Diggs joins the celebration
Diggs also marked the occasion. On his Instagram Stories, the footballer posted a picture of himself planting a kiss on Grey's cheek, plus a mirror selfie taken with the boy.
For some eagle-eyed fans, the name was not exactly news. A couple of months earlier, both Cardi and Diggs were spotted wearing jewellery spelling "Grey", and social media sleuths quickly connected the dots.
The pair started dating in spring 2025 and went public with the relationship that June. Following their split, they have reportedly kept co-parenting, although neither of them has publicly explained how the arrangement works.
Mother of four
Grey is Cardi's fourth child. She has two daughters, Kulture and Blossom, and a son, Wave, with Offset, the rapper she is estranged from. Creebhills reported in September that the former couple set aside their divorce drama to throw a joint birthday party for Wave and Blossom.
