Ajax appear set to keep Nigeria international Tolu Arokodare beyond this season. Technical director Jordi Cruyff has indicated that the Dutch club will offer the striker a permanent contract when the campaign ends, according to a report by Daily Post Nigeria.
Cruyff said the main terms are already in place. Speaking to Ziggosport, he was quoted as saying: "Everything has already been arranged. His salary too, although he did ask for a pay rise at the last press conference."
A loan that has paid off
Arokodare moved to Amsterdam this summer on a loan for the whole season from Wolverhampton Wanderers, who are in the Sky Bet Championship. The report says the 25-year-old has made a big impact at the Eredivisie club.
His return so far is 10 goals and three assists in 15 appearances in all competitions for Ajax, the former European champions.
The buy option
The loan agreement reportedly includes an option for Ajax to buy him, worth almost €20 million. That figure is reported only by the source and has not been independently confirmed here. Cruyff said the club has already agreed the key details of a potential permanent transfer, though the source does not say whether Wolves or the player have commented.
