Meghan Markle says she ‘can’t understand women hating on women’ as she speaks during panel appearance

Meghan Markle has said she cannot understand women who are “completely spewing hate” targeted at other women.

The Duchess of Sussex appeared on an SWSX panel where she, along with Brooke Shields, Katie Couric, and Nancy Wang Yuen spoke of the highs and lows of working in the public eye.

The Duchess said she could not “wrap her head” around the horrible comments.

She wondered how people could have been “so hateful” towards her on social media, later revealing to the panel she had received the most abuse from online trolls while she was pregnant.

She added: “What I find the most disturbing frankly, especially as a supporter of women, is how much of the hate is women completely spewing that to other women. I cannot make sense of that.”

It comes as Meghan berated online trolls for bullying her online while she was pregnant with Archie and Lilibet.

She said to the panel: “I keep my distance from it for my own wellbeing. But the bulk of the bullying and abuse I was experiencing in social media and online was when I was pregnant with Archie and with Lili. A newborn with each of them.

“And you just think about that and you really wrap your head around why people would be so hateful. Well it’s not catty, it’s cruel. Why would you do that?”

Meghan labelled the comments she received during her pregnancy as “painful” and was left feeling the need to “protect her child” when dealing with the onslaught of online trolls.
