Lawyer calls for Cristiano Ronaldo to be deported from Saudi for ‘grabbing crotch’

A Saudi lawyer, Nouf bin Ahmed has called for Cristiano Ronaldo to be deported from the country after the player appeared to grab his genitals while walking off the pitch.

She vowed to file a complaint against the Al Nassr forward for making obscene gestures during the match against Al Hilal on Tuesday.

Earlier, Ronaldo was almost sent off for putting an opponent in a headlock in the game which ended with Al-Nassr suffering a 2-0 defeat to Odion Ighalo’s Al-Hilal.

During Ronaldo’s exit from the pitch, there were chants from the crowd in favour of his rival, Lionel Messi which seemed to provoke the Portuguese star who proceeded to grab his crotch, an action which was deemed ‘insulting’.

In reaction via Twitter, Ahmed said she will file a complaint to the Saudi Prosecutor’s Office for his ‘crime of public indecency’.

According to the lawyer, arrest and deportation is the appropriate punishment if the crime was committed by a foreigner.

“It’s considered a crime of public dishonor, and it is one of the crimes that entails arrest and deportation if committed by a foreigner,” she wrote.

Several Saudis supported the lawyer’s decision and believe it was inappropriate for the Portuguese international to engage in such behaviour in Saudi Arabia.

Meanwhile, the club explained that Ronaldo made the gesture because he received a blow to his genitals during the match.
