I was a fat kid when I was little so I don’t go out because other kids make fun of me, they called me orobo – Singer, Kizz Daniel

Oluwatobiloba Daniel Anidugbe, the singer professionally known as Kizz Daniel, has opened up on how he was bullied as a growing child and the effect it had on his social life.

He revealed that he was chubby as a child and because of that, his peers made fun and bullied him to the point that he began to stay indoors.

The ‘Buga’ crooner said till date he still finds it difficult to socialise as a result of his traumatic childhood experience.

Kizz Daniel made the revelation while having a chat in a recent episode of the Afrobeats Podcast, hosted by British-Nigerian media personality, Adesope Olajide.

The singer further said that he drinks alcohol sometimes as a coping mechanism to be able to deal with social anxieties.

He said; “I have built a world of my own in my head since I was little. Because growing up, I was a fat kid. I was chubby. So, I don’t go out because the kids in the area make fun of me. They called me orobo (someone who is fat). And they bullied me. So I always stay indoors.

“During that time that I always stayed indoors, I’d already built this fantasy world in my head. In the world that I have built in my head, I’m very comfortable in that space.

“So, I reintroduced myself to the world after I lost weight; I lost all forms of social skills. I don’t know how to communicate. I don’t know how to socialise with people.”
