Super Eagles goalkeeper, Stanley Nwabali has shut down rumours that he’s been getting juicy offers from clubs since the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Cote d’Ivoire.
Nwabali, who keeps for Chippa United in South Africa, stated that he is yet to receive any offers from other clubs.
The shot-stopper became prominent due to his impressive performance at the just concluded Africa Cup of Nations, once said he is not in a hurry to leave the club.
Nwabali replaced Francis Uzoho as the first-choice goalkeeper despite having only one cap for the Nigerian national team prior to the AFCON.
Saudi Arabia Professional Football outfit, Al Ettifaq, and Sky Bet Championship club, Queens Park Rangers were reportedly interested in the goalie.
The 27-year-old however, told FARPost during a chat that no other club has approached him or representatives over a transfer.
He said; “You see, to be honest, I’ve never seen anything on my table ever since AFCON. Maybe those clubs might have spoken to my team or my manager. But at this point, we can’t do anything.
And they can’t approach me because it would be unprofessional. They must go to my club or my manager. So I don’t know if there’s something on the table maybe waiting for towards summer or transfer window.
You know most clubs always do this. When they show interest, you’re opening the way to some other clubs. So, some people always keep it a secret, and when they get you, they get you once. For now, I know nothing.”
