Jubilation as EFCC grants Bobrisky bail following arrest

Nigerian crossdresser and internet sensational, Idris Okuneye better known as Bobrisky has been granted bail.

The popular crossdresser has been granted bail by the Economic and Financial Crime Commission, however, according to sources the crossdresser is yet to meet his bail conditions. The conditions attached to his bail are yet to be ascertained at the time of reporting.

Early this morning, news broke out that the famous crossdresser had been arrested by EFCC on Wednesday, April 3rd at Pinnock Estate, in Lagos State.

The commission had even released his mugshot, with a post shedding more light on his arrest and how his presence at Eniola Ajao’s movie premiere, Ajanaku led to his arrest.

Following the arrest, netizens dug up a video of him spraying money at Eniola Ajao’s movie premiere, with many defending him as they noted how it was the usual tradition at Nigerian parties to spray money at an event. Some claimed that EFCC just wanted to use him as a scapegoat to others.

His arch-enemy, Very Dark Man, who is deriving joy in his arrest, had warned the owner of the estate where Bobrisky stays to avoid getting involved in Bobrisky’s issue with the EFCC.

VDM insinuated in his video that he was the one who instigated Bobrisky’s arrest when he said that this was just the beginning and that he would write a petition against Bobrisky, on the basis that he suspects him of money laundering. He further also said that any prominent man who makes any call to the EFCC soliciting for Bobrisky’s release is sleeping with him.

Award-winning Nigerian comedian, Ali Baba also reacting, had questioned why the crossdresser was arrested as he noted how many are abusing the naira notes at events.

Describing the arrest as unfair, he noted how a female celebrity was also sentenced over the same reason, as he lamented over women are being treated in the country.

Last year, EFCC had arraigned Oluwadarasimi Omoseyin, an actress and cosmetologist, after a video of her spraying and stepping on the newly redesigned naira notes at a party surfaced online. EFCC operatives also seized a Range Rover and iPhone belonging to the actress, as items recovered from her.

In February of this year, she was sentenced to six months imprisonment with an option of a N300,000.00 fine to be paid into the consolidated revenue account of the federation.
