“How some of my colleagues were blackl!sted because they refused to compromise” Biodun Okeowo speaks on the ills in the movie industry

Yoruba Nollywood actress, Biodun Okeowo better known as Omoborty has spoken out on the ills in the movie industry.

The single mother of two revealed how some of her colleagues were blackl!sted from movie roles because they failed to compromise their principles with influential figures.

She disclosed that some of them experienced the embarrassment of having their children sent home from school back then because they hadn’t been offered work and couldn’t pay school fees.

However, by the grace of God, they were able to overcome those challenges and now have the freedom to choose if they still want to act or not.

“Hmmm, shall we discuss the subtle blackl!sting, where certain individuals were excluded from movie roles simply because they refused to compromise their principles with influential figures? Some of us experienced the embarrassment of having our children sent home from school back then because we weren’t being offered work and couldn’t pay school fees.

But by the Grace of God, we’ve overcome those challenges. Now, we have the freedom to choose if we still want to act or not.
Because movie making no longer dictates our livelihood or pays our bills”.

Biodun Okeowo made this known while concurring with her colleague, Nkechi Blessing on the ills in the industry.

Nkechi had blown hot at some of her colleagues who are fond of badmouthing others to movie producers/directors.

The curvy actress noted how such people deny their colleagues, with whom they have personal beef, opportunities to star in movies by badmouthing them to movie producers and directors.

Nkechi reminded them that someday their days would soon be over.

This isn’t the first time, Biodun Okeowo is sharing her bitter experience in Nollywood.

Months back, Omoborty Biodun had recounted her bitter experience at the hands of her colleagues.

While pitching a tent with Habibat Jinad who called out Yetunde Bakare for always badmouthing her to others, Biodun recounted how they did the same thing to her and fought for her name to be removed from visits to high places.

According to her, these bitter colleagues felt intimidated by her presence.
