Gunmen abduct two varsity students in Taraba

Gunmen suspected to be herders have kidnapped two students of the Federal University, Wukari (FUW), Taraba State.

The Chief Security Officer of the institution, Sule Gani, said the students were abducted in a restaurant on the school premises on Monday evening, April 1, 2024.

It was gathered that the gunmen operated for almost an hour, shooting sporadically and injuring many other students.

The two students have been identified as Joshua Sardauna from the Economics Department and Obianu Elizabeth from the Microbiology Department

Gani said the kidnapped students were on the campus to rewrite some of their examinations.

He said the school authorities were working with the police and other security agencies to rescue the students unhurt.

“The school security patrol team alongside the police and soldiers will not rest on their oars until the victims are rescued,” Gani said.

He urged any person with useful information about the kidnappers’ whereabouts to reach out to the security operatives.
