“Even in famine, my family and I will be satisfied” – Pastor Bolaji slammed for praying only for his family amidst the hardship

In a recent development, Pastor Bolaji Idowu of Harvesters Church is facing backlash from Nigerians over a particular statement that he made.

He had recently taken to Twitter to express and make a declaration over his life and his family’s life following the recent economy.

In his words he had said,

“Even in the famine, my family and I will be satisfied.”

However, netizens had been left disappointed by his statement as they expressed that it was a selfish thing for him to say.

One Orioluwa Awoluwa slammed him on Twitter, expressing that his religion was a religion of selfishness.

Another person known as Satoru expressed that he is supposed to care about other people as a man of God.

In his words, he says,

“It hits a certain level that if your neighbour is starving, you are no longer a thief and more importantly, you are supposed to care.”

Another netizen known as Yemi The Ambivert took to Twitter to also express that the prayer appeared selfish to him. In his words, he says,

“I don’t know if it’s just me but saying amen to prayers like this appears selfish to me. Like what happened to living a life where standard of living across all borders should not be an issue? Well, that’s just me.”

One Iremu Amir expressed that it was not right for a Pastor to have made such a statement because he excluded other families when he only talked about his family.

In his words, he says,

“Of course, that is the brainwashing fed to the people in the name of religion. Your family will be okay. What about other families? We have so empowered selfishness and recorded Christianity. Another is praying for your own followers to bow before his own. Are you aware?”

This tweep also hinted at the fact that pastor Adebayo had recently declared that other churches would bow to his own church, RCCG.
