Former President, Muhammadu Buhari has changed his retirement plan as he received Nigerian governors under the Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF)
Recall that Buhari on Monday, May 29, 2023, retired to his country home, Daura after handing over to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The former president had before leaving office stated that he will not leave close to Abuja, so as not to be disturbed by anyone and in order to give the new government room to govern Nigeria well.
However, while receiving the APC governors at his Daura’s residence, Buhari said he will be relocating to Kaduna, but after the new government is fully settled.
He also thanked the governors for visiting him as he urged them to uphold promises made before assuming office.
The governors included Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos; Hope Uzodinma of Imo; Dapo Abiodun of Ogun and Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa. Others were Abubakar Badaru, Atiku Bagudu, Abdullahi Ganduje and Abubakar Sani Bello, who were former governors of Jigawa, Kebbi, Kano and Niger respectively.
