‘Beyoncé is the queen of music’ – Shakira declares

Colombian singer Shakira recently expressed her admiration for her American counterpart, Beyoncé, declaring her as “the queen” of pop.

In an episode of her show, ‘Shakira Radio Station’ on Apple Music, she highlighted Beyoncé’s significant impact on women of color in the US and globally.

Shakira emphasized the incredible work Beyoncé has done for minorities and women, stating that her advocacy extends beyond music, touching the lives of women of color and women in general.

In her words:

“She [Beyoncé’] is the queen. I mean, this is just so incredible, what she does for minorities in the US and around the world, what she’s done for women of color, what she’s done for women in general. The purpose that her life and her music has, it’s undeniable and it’s of a great magnitude”.

Shakira and Beyoncé previously collaborated on the hit song Beautiful Liar in 2006. Their partnership showcased their combined talent and left a lasting impression on fans worldwide.

The Colombian superstar, is entangled in a legal battle that could have severe consequences on her personal and professional life.

Prosecutors are demanding a prison sentence of more than eight years for the 46-year-old singer, accusing her of cheating the Spanish state of 14.5 million euros ($15.7 million) in revenue received between 2012 and 2014. Shakira dismisses the allegations, claiming that she only moved to Spain full-time in 2015.

Authorities in Spain assert that Shakira should have paid taxes in Spain as she spent more than half of that time there and used a network of businesses with tax haven addresses to evade paying taxes there.
