News went viral yesterday that ‘Ogologoma’ hitmaker, Rema has died with no further details about what caused his shocking death .

The news gained much currency when it appeared on a credible website like Wikipedia, a free online encyclopedia, created and edited by volunteers around the world and hosted by the Wikimedia Foundation.

Here’s how the website reported it:

“Rema (musician) Divine Ikubor (born May 1, 2000), and died on February 1, 2020 at 12:29 a.m known best known as Rema , is a Nigerian singer and rapper. In 2019, he signed a record deal with Jonzing World, a subsidiary of Mavin Records. “

However, Rema’s manager, Mr Sean said some hackers had access to the page and edited his bio to that effect.

Mr. Sean told the BBC that when Rema saw the fake news about his death, it prompted a wild laughter from them.
