Yobe state Governor-elect, Hon Mai Mala Buni, and his deputy, Idi Barda Gubana have been sworn to replace Governor Ibrahim Gaidam as his tenure expired some minutes ago. The oath of office and oath of allegiance was administered to them by the Chief Judge of Yobe state, Justice Musa Nabaruma, at the Banquet Hall of Government House, Damaturu.
The ceremony was conducted amidst resounding cheers and thunderous ovation from the mammoth crowd, just as residents have high expectations from the incoming administration. Remarking on his achievements, the outgoing governor, Ibrahim Gaidam, recounted how the demise of his late boss, Senator Mamman Ali of blessed memory ushered him into power in January 2009.
