Super Eagles goalkeeper, Stanley Nwabali has expressed confidence that the Nigerian national team has more quality than South Africa.
Nigeria and Bafana Bafana will renew their rivalry in a 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier scheduled to be played in Uyo, Akwa Ibom next Friday. The three time African Champions defeated South Africa in their recent meeting at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
Hugo Broos side has a slight edge ahead of the Super Eagles in Group C as they occupy second position with three points. While Finidi George’s boys have amassed two points from the same number of matches.
Speaking ahead of the game, Nwabali told Lagos Talks said with the calibre of players in his side, he does not believe there will be much of a challenge from any other team.
The Chippa United goalie said; said; “Football is the same everywhere but I don’t feel that with the kind of players we have, we can have any challenge in any game, especially in our group. But you cannot predict football.
“Talking about South African players I would say I know them. We have good players in our country too so I’m not talking about those guys, they are good in their own way of playing. I’m not talking about them because if we can put ourselves together, they cannot match us.”
