Bishop David Oyedepo, the head of the Living Faith Church Worldwide, shared a motivating account of overcoming financial hardships through unwavering faith during their Thanksgiving Service.
Reflecting on past difficulties, he stated, “When I found myself without money, I did not perceive myself as poor, think of myself as poor, or behave as if I were poor,” underscoring how mindset can influence one’s destiny, irrespective of outside situations.
Bishop Oyedepo conveyed that his steadfast faith in God’s covenant empowered him to surpass the poverty he once encountered. “Since 1983, I have not viewed a person as my source of assistance,” he recounted, referring to the moment he resolved to depend exclusively on God’s direction rather than human support. His experience serves as a strong reminder that true success originates from faith, not material possessions.
The Bishop further highlighted the significance of individual accountability in attaining success. He challenged his audience, stating, “Faith does not respond. ‘I prosper, go and prosper yourself.'”
His remarks pointed out that prosperity is not merely the result of faith declarations but demands effort, dedication, and a readiness to take charge of one’s life and business.
In his address, Bishop Oyedepo encouraged attendees to stop passively waiting for prophecies to materialize. Instead, they must actively engage in realizing God’s promises through obedience and taking initiative. “Why do you call him Lord, Lord, while neglecting to follow what he instructs you?” he questioned, motivating believers to demonstrate their faith through actionable steps and adherence to God’s teachings.
