Napoli forward, Victor Osimhen has demanded that the club double his salary for him to renew his contract.

The Italian team have also demanded to insert a hefty €200 million release clause on the new contract.

Napoli’s president, Aurelio De Laurentiis recently stated that the Nigerian international agreed to extend his contract by two years.

Osimhen’s current contract will run out in 2025.

He helped Napoli win its first league title in 33 years last season by scoring 26 goals to emerge as the top scorer in Serie A.

Meanwhile, Former Super Eagles midfielder, Ogenyi Onazi recently pleaded with Nigerians to ease up on the overwhelming financial requests being heaped on Victor Osimhen.

He explained that Osimhen has a lot of responsibilities on his shoulder, and nobody knows the number of people who are depending on him for survival.

Onazi stated this when he hosted the Super Eagles forward and media personality, Asiwaju Lerry at his mansion in Lagos state.

After a successful season in Serie A and Osimhen helped Napoli to win the Scudetto after 33 years, he returned to Nigeria to spend his holiday.

In a video which has gone viral on social media, Ogenyi Onazi explained that the ex-Lille player’s success is that of every Nigerian.

He said people who are waiting for Victor to help them will go and start maligning his name once he is unable to provide the monetary assistance they beg for.

The former Lazio midfielder asked everyone to be understanding and give Osimhen some breathing space so that he can get his life in order, because as footballers’ they do not play forever, and they have no pension.

He noted that as someone gets more money in life that’s also how the problems around him keeps increasing and piling up.

Onazi urged Nigerians to protect the striker and allow him to enjoy the little moment he has to spend in Nigeria before he flies back to Italy.
