Renowned Nollywood actor, Ibrahim Yekini, popularly known as Itele D Icon, has been criticized over his first cinematic movie, ‘Kesari The king’ recently dropped on streaming platform, Netflix on May 31st.
The epic movie, Kesari, has been making waves online as it topped No 1 on Netflix among other films released across the country.
Kesari, which grossed over N77 million in cinema, tells story of a legendary deity who defends the poor squares off with a ruthless police chief when he reincarnates as a crime boss devoted to wealth redistribution.
The film included star-studded packs like Itele, Odunlade Adekola, Deyemi Okanlawon, Bolaji Ogunmola, Dele Odule, Yvonne Jegede, Femi Adebayo, Kelvin Ikeduba, Lateef Adedimeji, Mo Bimpe, Yinka Quadri, Mr Macaroni, Yemi Elesho and many more.

While the movie went viral online, many film lovers expressed their contempt as they shared their review about the film. Many berated Itele D Icon for dropping such movie on Netflix, which requires people to subscribe with some amount before watching.
A voice note has gone viral online as it depicted how an angry young men stormed Itele’s private DM, slamming the actor for making him to waste his money to watch the film.
He could be heard stating that the ‘Kesari’ movie standard deserved to be played on cassette or YouTube instead of Netflix. He furthered that ‘Kesari’ story line is meaningless.
