Nigerian Afrobeat firebrand, Seun Kuti, has stepped into the storm surrounding his close friend, Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as Verydarkman (VDM), after the latter dropped damning evidence that has sent shockwaves through social media.
VDM’s bombshell exposes crossdresser Bobrisky, the EFCC, and even popular singer Falz, alongside his renowned father, Senior Advocate Femi Falana, in what’s quickly becoming one of the biggest scandals of the year.
Tontrends had earlier reported how VDM, in an explosive video, played a voice recording of Bobrisky allegedly admitting to paying a whopping N15 million to certain EFCC officials to make his money laundering charges disappear.
The charges had been slapped on the controversial socialite earlier this year, but according to Bobrisky, his money and connections greased the wheels to get him off the hook.
The video didn’t stop there – Bobrisky also allegedly revealed that he had spoken to both Falz and his father, Femi Falana, who reportedly assured him his name would be cleared from the mess.
In another shocking twist, Bobrisky allegedly confessed to contacting his so-called “godfather,” who arranged an apartment for him near the prison, where he was prepared to stay during his sentence.
Seun Kuti, known for his fearless outspokenness, did not sit this one out. During a fiery live session, Seun revealed that it was VDM who first reached out to him with the explosive evidence.
The singer said he gave VDM the full permission to share it with the world after he trusted him with the information.
What really irked Seun Kuti, however, was the glaring disparity in how justice was served. He expressed disbelief at how Bobrisky was allegedly given the red-carpet treatment by the EFCC, while he, despite carrying a more prestigious name, was thrown into Panti prison during his own tussle with the Nigerian police.

The outspoken musician didn’t stop there. He went in hard on the EFCC, claiming the anti-graft agency was never really established to go after the real enemies of the state.
According to Seun, the EFCC was merely a puppet, created by former President Olusegun Obasanjo and the American government, designed to crack down on small-time criminals like “yahoo boys” and internet fraudsters, while letting corrupt politicians and business tycoons run free.
Seun criticized the misplaced focus of the crime-fighting agency, accusing them of turning a blind eye to the deeply entrenched political and corporate corruption plaguing Nigeria. Instead, they zero in on young internet fraudsters, who, in Seun’s eyes, are far from the country’s biggest problem.
