The most expensive tower in West Africa belongs to a Nigerian and she’s a woman – See how much it costs

Mrs. Folorunsho Alakija is unarguably Africa’s richest woman whose net worth makes her one of the most influential persons in the world.

Back in 2019, she was on her way to becoming the owner of the most expensive building in West Africa, if not Africa by building the Famfa Towers at Alfred Rewane Road in Ikoyi Lagos.

The 22-floor edifice reportedly cost a whooping N60billion or $165million. Over N6billion was pumped into Famfa Towers when the construction first began. The one-of-kind tower was designed purposely for commercial purposes.

The last five floors are said to be for Mrs. Alakija’s personal use, possibly for her office and the rest will be rented out to people who can afford it.

The construction was done by Julius Berger, the German construction giant has over three decades of experience in construction and civil engineering.
