Nigerian songstress, Sarah Aderibigbe, popularly known as Ayra Starr, has acknowledged that people are going through tough times in life.

She said she is not bothered about negative comments from critics because many of them are hungry and depressed so it makes no sense to be thinking about what they say.

Ayra Starr shared this during a recent interview with Dose Society, emphasising that worrying about such things is just a waste of time.

She urged her colleagues to focus on discovering themselves and not being afraid of failing multiples times until they succeed.

Ayra Starr said: “What matters less? I think opinions and people’s perceptions of you doesn’t. Trust me, people are living their lives. Everybody is busy. People are hungry.

“Stop caring and stop thinking what people are thinking about you. People are hungry, tired. Life is hard. Just do you. Sometimes, you’re there overthinking, ‘what does this person think about me?’ Then, they’re just like, ‘what’s gonna happen today? Am I gonna make it home?’

“There’s a lot happening in the world, and if you spend your time thinking about what people think about you, you’re just gonna waste time. Do you, find yourself. Be confident in yourself. Don’t care about the outcome. Just do. Don’t be afraid to fail. Fail as many times as you want to but when you get it right, you’re going to be so proud of yourself.”
