Prominent Nigerian lawyer Stan Alieke has joined the chorus of voices condemning the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for their nighttime raids on private residences.
Alieke’s criticism comes on the heels of a recent incident in Anambra State, where individuals suspected of internet fraud opened fire on EFCC operatives, resulting in the death of one agent.
Alieke took to social media to express his discontent, stating that the EFCC’s methods are reminiscent of armed robbers.
He emphasized the need for the agency to cease its lawless conduct and respect the rights of citizens.
Stan Alieke wrote on his Instastory:
“EFCC is really overdoing it. You can’t continue breaking into people’s houses at the middle of the night with weapons like armed robbers. This lawlessness and anyhowness needs to stop. @officialefcc.”
