Soldiers stopped youths from repelling attack in Southern Kaduna communities – President of Atyap Community Development Association alleges

The killing of 10 locals by bandits in Zangon Kataf Local Government Area of Kaduna State, has been confirmed by the LGA’s Chairman, Francis Sani. 

 

Sani who called for deployment of more security personnel to the area to stop the attacks, also appealed for calm. 

 

Commenting on the killing on Wednesday, March 15, President of Atyap Community Development Association (ACDA), Dr Samuel Ache, said the people have lost confidence in the military following the attacks. 

 

Vanguard reported that he also alleged that the military supervised the killings. Ache said; 

 

”Ten people were killed, four injured, while others were still missing. The people have lost confidence in the military following the attacks. Instead of protecting the people, the military is supervising the killings. 

 

“Youth from neighbouring communities made efforts to repel the attack on the community but were prevented by the military.”

 

PRO of 1 Division Nigerian Army who was contacted over the allegation, said the area in contention was not within their jurisdiction but Operation Safe Haven.
