– Eleven women were prosecuted for breaking Sharia laws in Kano state
– The female suspects were accused of drinking alcohol, smoking cannabis and adultery
The Faggae Outpost of the Kano state hisbah board also known as Sharia police has started prosecution of 11 women on Monday, October 31.
The suspects were detained by by the Faggae local government officers around the Sabongari area for allegedly drinking alcohol, smoking cannabis or having relationship out of marriage.
Four suspects are divorcees with children, while one of them is in the third month of pregnancy. All of them were taken to central prisons in Kano, where they are awaiting trial that will take place in November 14.
