Nigerians have taken to social media to react following reports that Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP) was detained by immigration officials at Heathrow Airport in London on April 7, 2023.
Recall that LP Party Presidential Campaign Council (LPPCC) in a statement on Wednesday signed by the Head of Obi-Datti Media, Diran Onifade, said the former Governor of Anambra State was wrongly detained over offences allegedly committed by an impostor who is still at large.
The statement also stated that the impostor of Obi may commit various crimes that would lead to the arrest of the LP flagbearer in the United Kingdom for duplication.
Nigerians condemned the impostor while urging Obi to be cautious of detractors.

If you’re the impersonator, your days are numbered. Identity theft is a serious offence, and I know NCA, Europol, and Interpol will fish you asap. If this attack on Peter Obi is state-sponsored, it is game over for the current administration.”
