The United States government has said that having Ukraine become a NATO member is not on the negotiating table, as President Donald Trump aims to end the 3 year old Russia-Ukraine war.

“That is not back on the table. I do not see the United States having Ukraine enter into NATO,” United States National Security Adviser, NSA, Michael Waltz Waltz said TO Fox News on Monday.Fashion trends

“We are absolutely committed to NATO at large, our Article Five treaty agreements with other NATO countries, but the security guarantees for Ukraine is a different conversation,” Waltz added.

Waltz’s comment is coming after Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said on Sunday that he was “ready” to resign as leader for ‘peace’ to reign in Ukraine.

Zelenskyy also suggested that he could swap it for NATO membership.

“Yes, I’m happy, if it is for the peace of Ukraine,” Zelenskyy said at a press conference in Kyiv.

“If you need me to leave this chair, I am ready to do that, and I also can exchange it for Nato membership for Ukraine.”
