While many people are fond of taking to social media to celebrate their achievements, with some hoping to inspire others, this Twitter user believes the effect of doing such things publicly, has its negative effect.
Identified as Akin on Twitter, he took to the platform to advise people to learn to celebrate their achievements quietly and only share with people who are closest to them. Akin explained that doing otherwise puts some people under unnecessary pressure.
He wrote: “You buy a new car, celebrate low-key. You build a new house, share only with close friends. You just got promoted at the office, share the news with your family. The thing is, Depression is real. Don’t put someone else under unnecessary pressure with your achievements.”

According to some, people should not be stopped from celebrating milestones and the fact that someone else may be put under pressure by one’s success, is not enough reason to not celebrate.
