A primary teacher has lost her job after footage of her twerking in a bikini while away on holdiay emerged online.
The 24-year-old said she was forced into quitting her job after angry parents got wind of the raunchy viral clip.
The teacher known only as Miss Clarissa, was on holiday in Cabo San Lucas, in the northern Mexican state of Sonora where she had taught for three years.
Speaking to Mexican media, she said:
“They didn’t give me any other option at my school than to resign.”I didn’t know what else to do apart from leave as quickly as I could.“It was a dance competition, something like this doesn’t define me as a person, it was my free time and we’re in the 21st century.”
The disgraced teacher explained that the video came about as part of a beach dance competition where she won the top prize.
“I knew there were mobile phones but I never imagined this would go viral and anyway, I’m not doing anything bad.
Last night a backlash over what had happened was gaining force on the Internet.
Nearly 150 people had signed a change.org petition calling for Miss Clarissa to be given her job back.
An accompanying text, said to have been written by angry parents who did not support her “sacking” and threatening a school fees boycott if she wasn’t reinstated.
