Nigerian ex-lawmaker, Shehu Sani, has reacted to photos and video showing the moment Afrobeat singer, Seun Kuti was arrested.
Recall that Kuti was arrested today. In a viral video, he was seen handcuffed and taken to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, SCIID, in Panti for further investigation and possible detention.
Recall that the Inspector-General of Police, IGP, Usman Alkali Baba ordered Kuti’s arrest after his altercation with a police officer on the 3rd Mainland Bridge a few days ago.
Kuti was captured on video assaulting a police officer in uniform.
Reacting to the development, Sani, in a tweet via his handle on Monday, said there was no need to handcuff Kuti, who voluntarily surrendered himself.
He tweeted, “Even though I have been handcuffed for many years, there’s no reason to handcuff Seun who has voluntarily surrendered himself.”
