Police detains Davido’s son’s nanny and cook over his death; Six others released

The Lagos State Police Command has reportedly detained two of Davido’s domestic workers who were earlier arrested over the death of his son, Ifeanyi Adeleke.

Ifeanyi’s cook and nanny have been detained by the Lagos State Police Command as the other six who were also arrested in connection to the demise of the child have been released.

This comes shortly after the Lagos State Police Command’s spokesperson, Benjamin Hundeyin confirmed the death of Ifeanyi who reportedly drowned in a swimming pool in his father’s compound in Banana Island.

He said that eight persons were arrested in the process for questioning. These people were reported to be the domestic workers in Davido’s mansion and they were present when the tragedy happened.

He added that anyone found culpable of the young boy’s death will be detained as further investigations were still ongoing. It appears that two of these eight workers were found culpable and needed for further investigation as the other six were released, according to a source.

“I spoke with the DPO and he said the nanny and the cook have been detained. Other domestic workers brought in for questioning were released,” the source said.

Ifeanyi Adeleke, Davido’s son whom he had with his fianceé, Chioman Rowland was reported dead after he drowned in a swimming pool. The incident happened on Monday 31st October 2022, The boy was rushed to the Evercare Hospital in Lekki for medical attention but was pronounced dead.

The news sparked reactions on social media as fans and colleagues express their condolences to the musician, his fianceé and his family.
