Victor Osimhen is definitely relishing his Lille adventure but, admits replacing Nicolas Pepe comes with loads of pressure. However, he is embracing the pressure and is ready to surpass the Ivorian international who now laces his boot for Arsenal in the EPL.
The former Charleroi striker won Lille’s Player of the Month for October after scoring nine goals in 17 appearances in all competitions for Les Douges.
And during the international break, the former Wolfsburg striker was on target for Nigeria in the AFCON qualifiers against Benin Republic and Lesotho respectively, helping the Super Eagles to take charge of proceedings in Group L.
‘’For me, I think the pressure is high because Pepe scored a lot of goals for them and of course everyone wants me to replace him,’’ Osimhen told Victor Modo via YouTube.
‘’He is a great player, to be compared with him is something spectacular and exceptional so I came there to write my history and to help the club and get the goals of course.
‘’To get to the objective in which the club has set for itself, I am really good to go and I think I can do even more better.’’
