Big Brother Africa former housemate cum actress, Beverly Osu has said she would never be pressured to dance to the tune of fans. As she advises fans to love freely.

In a recent interview, Ms Osu said she can only be pressured by her family members and not fans.

“Fans put pressure on people they want to put pressure on. I am never under pressure. The pressure that happens to me is the pressure from my loved ones, my family and myself. I can jump on the bike right now and do what I have to do.

I can dance on the street. I fought for my own freedom; I don’t want anyone to put any chip on my shoulder because I am still discovering myself,” she said.

She also shared her thoughts on that one should not give love and expect that it will be returned equally.

She said, “There is a thin line between love and obsession. Sincerely if one loves another person, one is not responsible for the love the person gives back. One should give without looking for something in return and that is what humans do not understand. Once one gives, one expects something in return and it gets really frustrating when one doesn’t get anything in return. But love is universal, that is what God says we should do. Just love freely.”

The Anambra State born diva also said Nigerians don’t take issues pertaining to mental health seriously.

She added that there was an increasing rate of suicide among the youth because they were overwhelmed.

“Nigerians don’t take mental health seriously. It is said that when one has an emotional problem, it weakens every other organ in one’s body. Mental health is real and it is inevitable for humans.

“I have heard people say to themselves, ‘I can never be depressed’. But there are moments when one slides into a dark side or a feeling of inadequacy. There are times when one feels overwhelmed. We (Nigerians) are trying now but we cannot deny the fact that young promising youths are killing themselves every day because they are overwhelmed.”
