Grammy award-winning singer Burna Boy has issued a public service announcement to Nigerians about using songwriters.
It has become common for most artists to use songwriters while working on their songs, but for Burna Boy, it is different. Taking to the micro-blogging platform Twitter, now known as X, Burna Boy stated that any name people see credited on his songs are only producers of the songs or featured artists, not writers.
He noted how the Western world considers producers as writers of the instrumentals, and they throw their names on there as writers. Calling himself an Odogwu, Burna made it known that nobody writes for him.
