Popular controversial Nigerian social media personality and X influencer, Daniel Regha, has shared his two cents on award-winning singer Wizkid’s highly-anticipated album ‘Morayo’.

Wizkid’s Morayo was dropped today November 22nd and it has been causing buzz among fans and music lovers. Following the loss of his mum, Jane Dolapo Balogun, last year, Wizkid expressed his grief in a heartfelt tribute with his album. Titled “Morayo,” meaning “I See Joy” in Yoruba, it celebrates life, love, and his mom’s lasting legacy.

However, Daniel Regha took to his X handle as he previewed the singer’s new album, just like many had suspected he would. While many rated ‘Morayo’ as the album of the year, Daniel gave the album 3.5/10.

After streaming all songs in Morayo, the critic claimed on his timeline that none of the songs on the album were actually dedicated to Wizkid’s late mom, contrary to how it was portrayed to fans.

He also pointed out that Wizkid’s Bad Girl ft Asake was not needed in the album, calling it a total waste of collaboration. According to him, ‘Morayo’ is just a quantity over quality album, stating that it would have been better with EP of 4-5 songs instead of 16 tracks.

He wrote, “”Morayo” by Wizkid is a quantity over quality album, literally two songs divided into subparts. It might be a commercial success due to hype, but unf@rtunately it’s n@t the album of the year people hope it will be. A lot of songs sound repetitive, with lyrics showing that it was produced with just Tiktok in mind as there’s n@ spark, the track “Bend” is proves this. Now asides “Pray, and Kese (Dance)” which are a little refreshing, most tracks sound like songs that didn’t make it to his previous projects.”

“Bad Girl” ft Asake was also a w@ste of collaboration as neither of the artistes did anything meaningful despite their talent. It’s also surprising that no song was dedicated to his beloved mom. Frankly speaking, Wizkid needs new musical ideas. The album is a 3.5/10 mainly due to the beats, & the experimentation of new sounds. It would’ve been best if this was an EP with 4-5 songs. No offense.”

His review of Wizkid’s latest album took over social media space as commenters shared their thoughts. While many blasted Daniel over his rating, some agreed to his review. Some reactions are shown below:

@abazwhyllzz said, “First time I agree with you,if not for Asake in that album it should have been 0.5/10. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, music is not for that guy. He should just quit.”

@carsblogerrrr said, “I assumed Wizkid would express his feelings about losing his mother on Marayo, but why would you name an album after your mother when we did not hear a moving song about how you lost her? The only song on the album that I really enjoy is the one he sang with Asake; the others did not appeal to me. And why are there 16 songs on an album? It is a 3/10 from me!”

@Ziyechman said, “This is spot on Daniel. Thanks for the review.”

@Mussprince_seal said, “Change your AirPods man, that’s a 10/10 album Daniel.”
